In Budapest cinemas foreign language films are subtitled (feliratos in Hungarian), so tourists can enjoy the latest blockbusters with the original soundtrack.
Some very popular films are dubbed (szinkronizált) so it’s always good to check in Exit or in Pesti Est free magazines whether the film you want to watch is subtitled before you buy the ticket.

Chairlift

The Libegő is one of Budapest’s must-see special experiences. It is a two-way chairlift system that transports passengers between the Zugliget and the top of János Hill. It has been in operation for decades and still no accidents have ever happened.

We do not only present a part of the deep sea world but also a tiny bit of a tropical rainforest, where the sky thunders every quarter of an hour, rain starts to fall and lightning zigzags over the lazily lying Mississippi alligators. Besides, the Tropicarium can boast with the largest sea aquarium in all Central Europe, the shark aquarium containing 1.4 million litres of salt water, housing 8 two-meter-long sharks and hundreds of colourful fish of other species, swimming around in peaceful harmony. In addition to the enormous fish-tank, there are 50 other ‘smaller’ aquariums and terrariums (meaning 5-40.000 litres each!) on site.

Artifical Ice

The Városligeti Műjégpálya is a public ice rink located in the City Park of the Hungarian capital Budapest, between the Heroes’ Square and the Vajdahunyad Castle. Opened in 1870, it is the largest and one of the oldest ice rinks in Europe. In summer months the area is filled up with water to create a pond, which is primarily used for boating, but also hosted several special events, such as the snowball fight world record attempt in 2009 or the Art on Lake exhibition in 2011.

Vajdahunyad Castle

Situated in City Park, which at 1 square km is the largest park in Budapest, Vajdahunyad Castle began its life as a structure made of wood and cardboard. It was built for the city’s millennium exhibition in 1896 and was a huge hit with both the locals and those visiting Budapest.
